Rosie Wallpaper is a continuous sculpture installation. Its first iteration, Rosie Wallpaper 01, consists of a hand-bound grid of silky ribbon and a recurring floral motif made of hand-forged steel, tiffany-glass, cast-aluminum, and porcelain. In Rosie Wallpaper 02, adorning a similar silk-ribbon grid, the floral motif is made of forged steel, porcelain, and blown glass. The artwork deals with identity, an experience of exoticization, the feeling of generalization and simplification; to be on display and under pressure at the same time.

The work examines these topics by looking at how Western countries commodified the visual culture of the East. The installation plays with chinoiserie aesthetics that have been (and still are) applied in design and arts ever since the 18th century. Based on original and unique hand-painted designs from China with historical value and individual stories, European chinoiserie wallpapers formulated an all-encompassing Asiatic aesthetic of easily repeatable patterns that can be mass-produced. While both Rosie Wallpaper 01 and 02 emphasize the reductive and exoticizing nature of chinoiserie aesthetics, in Rosie Wallpaper 02 the formal idiom is more violent and organic, as if something is bursting forth, perhaps already dead.

Rosie Wallpaper 01 was exhibited as part of the Mänttä Art Fair XXVI in 2022, at Kunsthalle Helsinki in 2023, and at the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma in Helsinki in 2025–2026. Rosie Wallpaper 02 was exhibited at the Tampere Art Museum in 2025.
